My Cup
This song came to me on a desert-like June afternoon last year when I was sitting with my guitar, a chord sequence I liked, and my emotions. But I couldn’t figure out a hook to build up to, so it stayed a draft for almost a year. One day this May I was in the park with my friend Edu and played him what I had. He listened hard, got a look in his eye, and held his hand out for me to pass him the guitar. And with a few strums, he unlocked a compelling chord progression with momentum and depth that had eluded me for almost a year! I’m so fascinated by the songwriting process and can’t wait to learn more! I’m so grateful for music as a vehicle for connectedness and collaboration, a space for support and exploration and presence.
